A set of metrics I expect to enter the conversation in the web3 community more soon is how to assess a DAO’s health.
From contributing to and observing a handful of DAOs over the last few months, like Braintrust, OrangeDAO, Hyperscale, and the Nouns project, it seems like the following are some of the key metrics DAOs should track and optimize around:
Treasury metrics, monthly
- size
- inflows
- outflows
Proposal activity, monthly
- users following proposal activity
- pre-proposals submitted
- number of sponsors per proposal
- feedback engagement
- proposals sent to vote
- proposals executed
Voting activity, monthly
- unique voters growth
- frequency of unique voters voting
- retention of voters
